The 5 Revenue Leaks Every Ag-Tech Website Has

After auditing 30+ ag-tech websites — from farm management software to IoT sensor platforms — I've found that 90% share the same 5 issues. Here they are, in order of revenue impact.

Leak 1: The Generic CMS Trap

You built your site on a generic template. It looks professional. But it doesn't speak to procurement engineers, farm operations directors, or agronomists evaluating your platform.

The fix: Every page should answer one question: "Can the person reading this justify switching to our solution within 30 seconds?"

Leak 2: No Self-Qualification Path

Your pricing page hides behind "Contact Us." Your feature comparisons are vague. Your technical specs require a PDF download.

The fix: Add a self-qualification layer — pricing anchors, tier comparisons, technical spec tables — so buyers can determine fit before contacting you.

Leak 3: Mobile Is an Afterthought

60%+ of ag-tech buyers first research on mobile. But most sites are desktop-first with mobile as an afterthought.

The fix: Audit your mobile procurement flow. Can a field operations manager request a demo, read a spec sheet, AND share it with their team — all from a phone?

Leak 4: Lead Capture Is Hidden

Your contact form is in the footer. Your demo request requires 8 fields. Your newsletter signup doesn't exist.

The fix: Move lead capture above the fold. Reduce form fields to 3. Add a lead magnet (white paper, ROI calculator, case study).

Leak 5: Zero Social Proof

No testimonials. No case studies. No client logos. For a B2B purchase that will be reviewed by a committee, this is a non-starter.

The fix: Publish 3 case studies with before/after metrics. Add testimonial quotes to your homepage. Show logos of current users (even if anonymized by industry).
